Exercise To Lose Weight Exercises – One Little Secret That Goes Far

Either you or someone you know is overweight. Possibly way overweight. Either you or someone you know is tired of being overweight. Your research gets you confused as there are many weight loss/exercise programs out there. They all claim to work, they all claim some difference, some secret. Some of them must work or they wouldn’t be so popular, right? Except that some that were popular a while back turned out to have really major side effects. Or not work at all. How do you choose?

Well, the answer is simple: the one you’re going to actually do again and again. Losing weight is a process. Just like you don’t put on 10 Lbs with one meal, you don’t lose 10 Lbs in one exercising session. Staying in shape doesn’t require one workout session, either. So, the best exercise for losing weight for you is the one that you can do for a long time. That means you have to pick exercises that don’t bore you. Or cause injury. So, if you pick an exercise that will cause neither boredom nor injury, you’re on the way to losing weight. Assuming you don’t start eating more than you did when you before you started to exercise.

Let me put it another way. The higher the intensity, the more calories you use up, the less boring the exercise. But high intensity can cause injury. So pick an exercise you can do at low intensity too. Because low intensity exercising day after day does use up a lot of calories.

I happen not to like rowing machines. Either at low or high intensity. I used to like biking (both indoors and outdoors). Now, not so much. Since stairs and stepping were never my thing, I’m left with treadmills and elliptical machines. At any intensity. So, obviously, if I were starting an exercise program to lose weight, I’d be exercising on an elliptical machine or a treadmill.

Since I know you have to do weights and like a lot of muscle building exercises, I’d be incorporating some of them. But every two months or so, I’ll get bored with my weight training routine. So, I’ll have to change it. Turns out, though, there are gazillions of exercises and each has a gazzillion variations. Besides, after a few months of not doing a particular exercise, I can do it again and find it exciting. For a while.

But I would not expect great weight loss from weight training exercises. You just don’t burn as many calories with weight training as you do with cardio exercises. Weight training is great for many reasons, but aerobics beats it hands down at weight loss. (Not unless you’re an Olympic contender or a body builder. Then you would be looking to gain the muscle mass necessary to make a difference.|I am not a body builder or an Olympic contender, so I don’t train enough to gain the kind of muscle that will make a difference in how many calories my muscles use.)

Since you’re twisting my arm, I’m going to tell you. Weight training gets you stronger. Bigger muscles let you do a lot of things easier. Besides, being stronger makes you feel stronger. That makes you feel sexy.

There’s no point in exercising just so you exercise. You want to get the most out of your time exercising, right? Here’s how you do that. You don’t exercise at the same intensity from beginning to end. If you do, your body gets used to the workout, gets better at performing it, uses up fewer calories to do it. There are many ways of varying your workout. You could go with whatever is built into your machine, if you use a cardio machine.

Or you can just incorporate a few sprinting sessions in your routine. Give it all you’ve got for a few seconds, recover. Then do it again. Or, maybe, if you use a machine, you just change the incline or resistance one notch or two.

Another way to vary your workout routine is to do several exercises. One day you bike. Another day you jog and walk. Another day you bike, use a treadmill, climb some stairs. That kind of thing. It takes care of you getting bored, too. And, more importantly, you’re less likely to overuse a muscle or joint, so less likely to get hurt.

And, keep in mind this: you cannot out-exercise bad eating habits. Losing weight is not just about exercising. As a matter of fact, and I know this from experience, you can burn up 1,000 per exercise session, exercise three or four times a week, and gain weight.

To conclude: if in order to lose weight, you have to change your eating habits and exercise. The best exercise for losing weight is the one you are going to do. It’s just that simple. So, go find yourself a fun exercise or activity and commence to lose weight.

Once you’ve lost some weight, you’re probably going to be thinking about your abs. You’re probably going look at ab machines and put the final touches. Again, the thing here is to pick an ab machine you’re going to use. Yes, some are better at engaging your abs than others, but the lousiest one is still better than the best one if it’s one you use but you end up not using the best one.

CLICK HERE for a FREE WORKOUT: www.turbulencetraining.com First instalment of diet vs. exercise where Craig Ballantyne and Brad Pilon show you how ineffective cardio is and just how dramatic your calorie intake can be without you knowing it. The simple truth is; you can’t out-train a bad diet. Today, in this contest, Craig Ballantyne is going to run on the treadmill on an incline of .5 and a speed of 10.5 mph for 3 minutes, while Brad Pilon eats pizza and drinks soda pop. Brad is going to try to consume as many calories as he can in those 3 minutes, while Craig is going to see how many calories he can burn off in that same amount of time. In 3 minutes, Brad consumed approximately 1000 total calories, while Craig burned only 43 calories. Cardio loses against diet. This just goes to show you, in diet vs. exercise, you can never out train a bad diet. It doesn’t matter how good your program is, if this is your nutrition, you’re not going to lose fat. Visit Turbulence Training to get your FREE sample fat burning workout.

Suffering From Asthma Shouldn’t Mean You Don’t Exercise

Obviously anytime that you are thinking about changing your exercise program then you should consult your doctor.

For the most part, people that have asthma suffer with wheezing, coughing, tightness of the chest, shortness of breath, and chest pain when they do strenuous exercise. To be on the safe side, people who suffer from asthma need to do certain things before they exercise to help lower the chances of exercise induced asthma attacks.

Some tips to get the most out of exercise, and prevent asthma attacks while getting exercise are:

1. Make sure that the exercise you choose is something you can handle. Some of the best exercises for asthma suffers are things like walking, riding a bike, swimming, and hiking. These are generally tolerated much better than other types of exercise that make you run for long periods of time. Symptoms are usually fewer with exercises that are constant, like gymnastics, golf, and wrestling. Things like tennis, field hockey, long distance running, and softball, can make symptoms more likely to occur.

2. If you use things to control your asthma, then use your inhaler about 15 minutes before you start to exercise, and be sure they are close to you when exercising in case you are in need of them.

3. It is also a great idea to breathe through your nose, and not through your mouth, since this can trigger an asthma attack, due to the fact that mouth breathing causes cold air to be inhaled right into the bronchial tubes. Breathing through your nose allows the air you breathe to be filtered and given moisture, as well as warming the air before in reaches your lungs.

4. Be sure that you exercise somewhere that there is a minimal amount of pollution, and allergens. It is best to avoid places where there are grass and trees, as well as mould.

5. If you are suffering through asthma symptoms already, you should avoid exercise, until symptoms subside. 6. Be on the lookout for signs of an asthma attack. If you suffer from symptoms shortly after beginning exercise, then your asthma might not be controlled, and your doctor might need to be consulted about a medication that you can use every day to help get your asthma under control.

Asthma that is induced during exercise is caused when the muscles that are around the airways become sensitive to the changes in humidity and temperature, and they contract, making the airways more narrow. Some of the symptoms of exercise-induced asthma are:

1. Being abnormally tired during exercise

2. Having a hard time catching your breath when exercising

3. Chest begins to tighten

4. You start to wheeze Most of the time, these symptoms will begin about 5 to 20 minutes after exercise has started, or a few minutes after you have stopped exercising. These sort of symptoms need to be discussed with your doctor before exercising.

To prevent or control asthma symptoms before or during exercise, asthma inhalers or bronchodilators can work well for asthma sufferers. Used before exercise then they may reduce the chance of experiencing asthma symptoms during exercise.

Some other treatments for asthma include medications that last for up to twelve hours, like Foradil and Serevent. If used first thing in the morning then the symptoms of asthma may be significantly reduced for the remainder of the day. You should also have an asthma inhaler with you as well, in case of emergencies.

Other things that can be done, is to make sure you cool down after exercising, and warm up before you exercise. If you have allergies and asthma, you should not exercise outside when there are high pollen levels, or days when pollution is high. Do not exercise when you have an infection or a temperature as this may increase the risk of having an exercise induced asthma attack.

Research indicates that asthma sufferers who regularly exercise have fewer attacks of asthma. In addition, the attacks they do experience are generally not as severe. It can often go a long way to making the person feel better mentally as well.

People that suffer from asthma shouldn’t put off exercise if their doctor tells them it is alright. There may be lasting physical and mental benefits to the sufferer and improve the quality of their life.

How to Exercise the Right Way

An exercise program can be tough, especially when you first start. Many studies indicate that the best way to start exercises is to start slow and steady.

If you want to change your lifestyle from sedentary to physically active, a workable plan is necessary.

The Exercise Program

Select an exercise to practice easily at any given time of the year. The majority of people are greatly satisfied with walking, jogging, swimming, fitness videos, or with exercise classes.

Any exercise should always begin slowly.

Be sure to consult your physician if you have a medical condition, before starting your new exercise program and vigorous activity.

It is important to make the activity fun, and not overly strenuous. You are more likely to be consistent with the exercise program if you do not overstrain or overdue the exercise routine.

Allow yourself the opportunity to like and become familiar with the new exercise activity.

Remember to warm up before you start the exercises, as well as making sure to cool down afterwards. About five minutes for warm-ups and cool down times are usually recommended by most fitness experts. By performing warm-ups, you will be less likely to injure yourself when exercising, and be more apt to continue with the exercise routine.

When developing the exercise program, be sure to establish a reasonable schedule by allowing some days of rest from the activities. This gives your body a reasonable amount of time to repair itself, and to do other tasks. This well thought out regimen and schedule will benefit you more in the long run, allowing for more productivity. With this method, you will be more apt to continue with the exercises.

It is good practice to exercise normally at least three times per week. You could try exercising every other day with maybe a couple of days to three days off every week.

Remember, only start your exercise moderately at first, with perhaps just 30 minutes per day. Allow time for many different activities. If you feel that 30 minutes is too long for you to do at one time, simply break up your session into shorter intervals such as two sessions of 15 minutes.

It is normal for muscles to hurt at the beginning with exercising, and is not a reason to stop. This is normal, and will gradually lessen and stop eventually. It is important, however, if you feel any severe pain or swelling, to stop immediately and see a health care provider. Always follow the advice of your health care team.

Be sure to select a convenient time of the day to exercise. When choosing to perform an exercise, it’s best to wait a while after eating. If it is very hot, try to wait until the weather cools off.

Select your exercising shoes wisely. Choose some that you can breathe in, with plenty of room for comfort, yet supporting your feet properly.

Aerobic Exercises

Aerobic exercises are a fantastic way to stay fit and healthy. It is a known medical fact that regular aerobic exercises help to prevent heart disease, stroke, hypertension, cancer, and diabetes.

Aerobics use the large muscles in the legs and buttocks to strengthen the heart and lungs. These forms of exercises are called cardiovascular exercises. By doing regular aerobic exercises, the heart becomes stronger. Aerobics can also decrease blood pressure, and lessen depression.

Muscles and bones strengthen, improving the body’s balance and flexibility.

Examples of aerobic exercises include swimming, bicycling, stair climbing, running, hiking, walking, aerobic dancing, and many other activities.

An Exercise Goal

It is best to have a goal in mind when beginning the exercise program. Plan to achieve this new exercise goal gradually.

A wonderful way to track your success is to use a progress chart. An idea would be to list the amount of minutes you exercise on a daily basis.

In order to succeed, you have to be loyal to your exercise routine.

Be sure to reward yourself for every single accomplishment you achieve. As you progress, you can possibly increase your levels of exertion over time with the exercises and fitness plan.

Exercise Plans – How to Create the One for You!

Do you have an exercise plan? Do you own any exercise equipment? Perhaps a treadmill, an exercise bike, or any of the gazillion exercise machines advertised on infomercials over the last 10 or 20 years? I think we’ve all been sold at one time or another on something to make exercising easier… or so we thought. And that’s good! Having the desire to look better, feel better and implementing a good exercise plan can help us to reach those goals and also help us to keep our weight under control. And those are just a few of the benefits of exercise. When we perform an exercise routine regularly we begin to not only look and feel better… we even sleep better. When you get right down to it I think we all know that a good exercise plan is part of a healthy lifestyle.

I often hear people ask “What is the best exercise?” And the answer to that question is the one you like the most. Why? Because that’s the one your more likely to do! For many people, just one exercise would not be enough because although we all want to be in good shape and the proper weight, we all have different fitness goals… but for others, one exercise performed consistently and regularly provides all the benefits mentioned above and then some!

So… how many exercise plans do you need to receive all of the exercise benefits described above? One! That’s right… just one! And how many exercises do you need to do? That will depend on your particular fitness goals… your likes and dislikes… but the first question I encourage you to ask yourself is “What one exercise do I like the most? That answer will get you started on a good exercise plan.

Now…

Did you know that how often you exercise is the single most important factor in whether you:
• reach your weight loss goals
• will be satisfied with your results
• will feel good about your progress

You could own every piece of exercise equipment ever advertised on an infomercial, from an exercise bike to an exercise ball and every exercise machine in between, but if you’re not going to use them, then your exercise plan will never succeed. Now I’m not saying that you need to own exercise equipment to be in shape. There are many people who are in excellent condition who own nothing more then a pair of Nikes. If you get just one thing from reading this, understand that your fitness level is directly related to the frequency in which you exercise.

It doesn’t matter if you know how to do every imaginable abdominal exercise, dumbbell exercise, aerobic exercise, tricep, deltoid or backside exercise. The important thing is how often you do them!

I challenge you right now to base your exercise plan on frequency, and I promise you will be much more successful. Whether your exercise plan consists of 20 different exercises or one… please remember this.

Now I don’t want you to get carried away. There’s more to life than just exercising… much more. All I’m saying is when you set about creating an exercise plan, the frequency of exercise is crucial. So as you create your exercise plan answer these two questions:
1) What one exercise do I enjoy the most? Even if you currently hate all exercise… there must be one that you like or hate less than the others.
2) And secondly, how often can I sincerely do this?

Answer those two questions and your exercise plan will be off to a great start!

Stomach Exercise To Lose Belly Fat

There is no magical gizmos or high tech gadgets to help you get your abdominal muscle. You have to exercise to flatten stomach and get a lean, defined six-pack. Your dream of getting a sexy body with flat and trim abs is within your reach! Sculpt up with lower abdomen exercise and get rid of those love handles with exercise. Here is how!

Stomach Muscle Exercise

A good abdominal workout program requires high intensity muscular overload and an increase in intensity progressively. Stomach exercise must be performed carefully so that the lower back is supported properly.

Stomach exercise can help build the entire abdomen region because the upper and lower abdominals are not separated and are connected. Of course, there are some stomach exercises that can help build and strengthen specifically the lower and upper abdominal muscles.

Abdominal exercises can help you also gain strong stomach muscles and back muscles. This can reduce the likelihood of back pains and provide protection against injury by efficient response to stress.

Lets have a deeper look into the muscles in the abdominal area. The Rectus abdominals is the muscle that stretches down the stomach from your ribs to the hips. The external and internal oblique run down the sides of the waist and their job is to rotate the torso and assist the abdominals during curling and twisting movements.

Stomach exercises are needed to tone or harden the muscles in that area. Not only that, the layer of body fat that is covering the abs must be burn off and this could be only done with proper eating plan. Try to increase your protein intake and limit your carbohydrates, eating a low carbohydrate diet is said to be one way of tackling flabby abs along with a sensible abs exercise routine, strength training and cardio exercise.

Stomach exercise

Stomach exercise must be followed religiously and is all about frequency rather than intensity. No exercise must be continued if it leads to pain or extreme discomfort. The best stomach exercise program can also help you achieve a flat and tight stomach. Many an abs exercise can be performed on the floor. Like any other muscles, the abdominal muscles will react to resistance training like bicep curls and crunches.

A simple pelvic tilt performed while sitting in a chair can strengthen your abdominal muscles and help support the back.

Best Stomach Exercises

Crunch

Lay on your back and knees bent, lift your shoulders off the floor. The emphasis is on moving the ribs towards the hips.

Reverse Curl

Lay on your back, bend your knees towards the chest. Keep the hips on the floor. Contract your abdominal muscles at the same time. Your lower abdominal exercise program must include reverse curls.

Leg raise

Single leg raise involves raising one leg from the floor. The double leg raise involves raising both legs from the floor at the same time and this works as an abdominal muscle exercise. Lying leg raises are ideal lower abdominal exercise

Abs exercise with the ball

The stability ball is an effective training device for the abs and lower back. Due to the curve of the exercise ball, the lower abdominal muscles get trained better on account of the greater range of motion.

Bicycle

It was ranked the best abdominal exercise by the American Council on Exercise. When performed with the abs muscles pulled, this exercise does great things for you.

Plank

For this exercise program, you need to position yourself for a pushup and hold the pose. Ensure that your body is in one long, straight line from head to toes.

Captains chair

This abs exercise involves standing on a gym chair and gripping the handholds. Press your back against the head pad and slowly lift your knees towards your chest. The back must remain straight.

Postnatal stomach exercise

A lot of women just cannot wait to get back in shape after childbirth. But before they can participate in any postnatal weight loss exercise program, they have to consult their doctor first.

Pelvic tilts and simple abs contractions are an ideal way to start on a postnatal lower abdomen exercise program. Combined with Kegels exercise, you can get your pelvic floor muscles back in shape. Isometric contractions can even be practiced with the baby on your stomach. Stick to a steady lower abs exercise program and watch the flabby skin harden.

Stomach exercise to flatten stomach

Getting a lean defined six-pack abs is a dream for most of us. Millions of dollars are spent yearly in the process of achieving a flat stomach and trim waistline. There are many gadgets that are sold to those seeking an exercise program getting the stomach fat down.

The first step towards a lean waist and flat stomach is to remove the fat that sits on the abs. A combination of cardiovascular exercise program coupled with a low fat diet aimed at preventing fat can do wonders. Stomach exercise program would include the following:

Forward flexion exercises such as sit-ups and crunches.

Rotational exercises such as trunk rotations and standing twists

Stomach Exercise for love handle

Love handles are a misnomer, as all women would love to shun them. Love handles are the ugly fat belts around the waist. This lump of flesh starts at the side of the bra-line and extends all the way down the back. Aerobic exercise aimed at this region can help you shed those love handles. Exercise for love handles involve exercising the oblique muscles to tighten up the sides of the waist. Abs crunches could also do the same.

Here is an easy stomach exercise for the oblique that you can do at home.

Sit upright with a stick across the back of your shoulders. Twist from side to side. Side bends also work wonders on love handles. Keep at it and watch these muscles firm into place.
