			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Exercise To Lose Weight Exercises &#8211; One Little Secret That Goes Far</strong></p>
<p>        Either you or someone you know is overweight. Possibly way overweight. Either you or someone you know is tired of being overweight. Your research gets you confused as there are many weight loss/exercise programs out there. They all claim to work, they all claim some difference, some secret. Some of them must work or they wouldn&#8217;t be so popular, right? Except that some that were popular a while back turned out to have really major side effects. Or not work at all. How do you choose?</p>
<p>Well, the answer is simple: the one you&#8217;re going to actually do again and again. Losing weight is a process. Just like you don&#8217;t put on 10 Lbs with one meal, you don&#8217;t lose 10 Lbs in one exercising session. Staying in shape doesn&#8217;t require one workout session, either. So, the best exercise for losing weight for you is the one that you can do for a long time. That means you have to pick exercises that don&#8217;t bore you. Or cause injury. So, if you pick an exercise that will cause neither boredom nor injury, you&#8217;re on the way to losing weight. Assuming you don&#8217;t start eating more than you did when you before you started to exercise.</p>
<p>Let me put it another way. The higher the intensity, the more calories you use up, the less boring the exercise. But high intensity can cause injury. So pick an exercise you can do at low intensity too. Because low intensity exercising day after day does use up a lot of calories.</p>
<p>I happen not to like rowing machines. Either at low or high intensity. I used to like biking (both indoors and outdoors). Now, not so much. Since stairs and stepping were never my thing, I&#8217;m left with treadmills and elliptical machines. At any intensity. So, obviously, if I were starting an exercise program to lose weight, I&#8217;d be exercising on an elliptical machine or a treadmill.</p>
<p>Since I know you have to do weights and like a lot of muscle building exercises, I&#8217;d be incorporating some of them. But every two months or so, I&#8217;ll get bored with my weight training routine. So, I&#8217;ll have to change it. Turns out, though, there are gazillions of exercises and each has a gazzillion variations. Besides, after a few months of not doing a particular exercise, I can do it again and find it exciting. For a while.</p>
<p>But I would not expect great weight loss from weight training exercises. You just don&#8217;t burn as many calories with weight training as you do with cardio exercises. Weight training is great for many reasons, but aerobics beats it hands down at weight loss. (Not unless you&#8217;re an Olympic contender or a body builder. Then you would be looking to gain the muscle mass necessary to make a difference.|I am not a body builder or an Olympic contender, so I don&#8217;t train enough to gain the kind of muscle that will make a difference in how many calories my muscles use.)</p>
<p>Since you&#8217;re twisting my arm, I&#8217;m going to tell you. Weight training gets you stronger. Bigger muscles let you do a lot of things easier. Besides, being stronger makes you feel stronger. That makes you feel sexy. </p>
<p>There&#8217;s no point in exercising just so you exercise. You want to get the most out of your time exercising, right? Here&#8217;s how you do that. You don&#8217;t exercise at the same intensity from beginning to end. If you do, your body gets used to the workout, gets better at performing it, uses up fewer calories to do it. There are many ways of varying your workout. You could go with whatever is built into your machine, if you use a cardio machine. </p>
<p>Or you can just incorporate a few sprinting sessions in your routine. Give it all you&#8217;ve got for a few seconds, recover. Then do it again. Or, maybe, if you use a machine, you just change the incline or resistance one notch or two.</p>
<p>Another way to vary your workout routine is to do several exercises. One day you bike. Another day you jog and walk. Another day you bike, use a treadmill, climb some stairs. That kind of thing. It takes care of you getting bored, too. And, more importantly, you&#8217;re less likely to overuse a muscle or joint, so less likely to get hurt.</p>
<p>And, keep in mind this: you cannot out-exercise bad eating habits. Losing weight is not just about exercising. As a matter of fact, and I know this from experience, you can burn up 1,000 per exercise session, exercise three or four times a week, and gain weight.</p>
<p>To conclude: if in order to lose weight, you have to change your eating habits and exercise. The best exercise for losing weight is the one you are going to do. It&#8217;s just that simple. So, go find yourself a fun exercise or activity and commence to lose weight. </p>

<p>Once you&#8217;ve lost some weight, you&#8217;re probably going to be thinking about your abs. You&#8217;re probably going look at <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);" href="http://www.abdominalfitnessmachines.com">ab machines</a> and put the final touches. Yes, some are better at engaging your abs than others, but the lousiest one is still better than the best one if it&#8217;s one you use but you end up not using the best one.</p>

<p>Being overweight immediately means putting yourself at a high risk of acquiring or developing more serious medical conditions. There are several disorders linked to being overweight, and some of them can be dangerous and life-threatening. Some of these disorders or diseases include heart disease and stroke, diabetes, cancer, and gallbladder disease, among many others.</p>

In the United States of America, heart disease and stroke account for a majority of deaths in people who are overweight. A person with heart disease suffers from a malfunctioning in the heart and blood flow or circulation. The body&#8217;s cardiovascular health is greatly affected. Complications that may arise include angina or chest pains from difficulty in breathing, abnormal heart rhythm, heart attack, congestive heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. A stroke can leave you paralyzed or dead due to the slow and disabled blood and oxygen flow to the brain. </p>

If you&#8217;re overweight, your blood pressure and cholesterol levels are dangerously high, causing inflammation of blood vessels and putting you at risk for heart disease. Doctors usually recommend losing five to fifteen pounds to help you combat heart disease and stroke. </p>

A person with type 2 diabetes loses control of blood sugar levels, making him susceptible to heart disease and stroke, kidney disease, blindness, and early death. An alarming 80% of type 2 diabetes cases consist of patients that are overweight. If you&#8217;re overweight, your cells change and become less effective at absorbing and properly utilizing found in the blood, leaving your blood sugar levels high. The best thing you should do is to start an exercise program. Exercising and moving around a lot as much as you can help your body absorb easier and faster the sugar you get from your diet, putting you away from type 2 diabetes. </p>

Cancer, the second leading cause of death in the country, is found to be common in people who are overweight, specifically cancer of the colon and kidney. In women, being overweight is linked to the development of postmenopausal breast cancer. However, doctors recommend trimming down and maintaining one&#8217;s weight once hitting thirty, as this is when human cells start to lose their quality and suffer from retarded growth. </p>

People who are overweight are likely to experience gallbladder disease or develop gallstones, which are clusters of solid material that form in the gallbladder due to too much cholesterol in the body. <p>Through the debate on reforming health insurance for small businesses, an important piece of information was missing: Policymakers had little data on why only some young companies offer their employees health insurance. Common sense and much research indicate that cost plays a big role in business owners&#8217; health insurance decisions. Why do some entrepreneurs choose to incur this cost while others do not?</p>
<p>Back in March, Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, which in 2014 will require all Americans to have health insurance or pay a penalty. Although many people would now like to put discussion of employer health insurance behind them, the question of why only some founders of small businesses offer insurance remains an important one. Its answer will influence how much of a role government will play in providing employee health insurance for years to come.</p>
<p>One part of the new law is a set of tax credits and penalties designed to encourage employers to provide insurance.The problem is that for most young small businesses, it won&#8217;t work.That&#8217;s the conclusion I reached, based on research I conducted with Alicia Robb of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.We examined the decisions of founders of young companies on whether or not to offer health insurance, using information from the Kauffman Firm Survey, which tracks a cohort of nearly 5,000 new businesses started in 2004.</p>
<p>The data show that very few new businesses offer employee health insurance. Nearly two-thirds of companies with employees did not offer employee health insurance at any time during their first five years of operation. Moreover, only one in five offered insurance to their workers in all of the years.<br />insurance: no performance benefits</p>
<p>The few young small businesses that offered health insurance differed dramatically from those that didn&#8217;t: They tended to be larger and higher-paying, structured as partnerships and corporations, and they offered their employees a wide variety of benefits. Most young businesses don&#8217;t fit this profile. The majority are sole proprietorships with few, modestly paid employees. Only a handful of young companies grow dramatically. A minority shift from sole proprietorships to other legal structures. Few ever add a lot of benefits. This means that only a small portion of young small businesses are health-insurance-providing types. Most are not.</p>
<p>One argument that&#8217;s often made to justify giving employees health insurance is that doing so helps companies perform better. Those that offer employee health insurance, the argument goes, get better and harder-working employees. We examined whether the provision of employee health insurance provides any performance benefits to young companies. We found that it does not.</p>
<p>Controlling for a variety of other firm and founder characteristics, we saw no significant effect from providing employee health insurance on firm survival, growth in assets, growth in sales, growth in profits, or growth in employment during the first five years of operation. Stated differently, offering employee health insurance doesn&#8217;t appear to do anything to improve the performances of young companies, despite what some observers argue. We shouldn&#8217;t claim that the new law will benefit small business owners by making their companies more successful.<br />low-paying, sole proprietorships</p>
<p>The data offer three key takeaways for policymakers. First, only a minority of new businesses offer health insurance to employees, even by age five. Fewer still move from not offering insurance to providing it. When thinking about how to manage small business health insurance, policymakers need to keep in mind that offering insurance isn&#8217;t something that young companies naturally evolve to do as they mature. Consequently, most of the employees at new businesses that don&#8217;t offer health insurance will need to be covered by government programs and state exchanges.</p>
<p>Second, new companies that don&#8217;t offer insurance tend to be smaller, lower-paying, sole proprietorships with a large share of part-time workers. These offer employees limited benefits. Policy makers need to recognize that offering employee health insurance is something that fits certain kinds of new companies and not others. Small business owners who don&#8217;t offer employee health insurance aren&#8217;t being heartless. They are responding to the economics of the industries they are in and the business models they are pursuing.</p>
<p>Third, offering employee health insurance doesn&#8217;t improve the financial performance of new companies. Policymakers need to understand that despite the many reasons why they want the founders of all businesses to offer health insurance to employees, requiring that entrepreneurs provide such insurance won&#8217;t benefit many of the business owners.</p>
<p>Hundreds of thousands of new businesses with employees are founded in the U.S. every year. Few of these companies are large enough, pay enough, or are structured in a way that would lead them to offer employee health insurance. Moreover, few will turn into businesses that provide health care coverage to their workers. As a consequence, most of the several million workers hired by young businesses annually will be getting their insurance from government programs and state exchanges for years to come.</p>

<p>Overweight problems are the most common reason that an individual will want to start a diet. Whether it is to become more physically fit, comfortable, more attractive or for health benefits, losing weight is indeed a positive change in many people&#8217;s lives. In some instances, losing weight can even save lives.</p>
<p>For those who struggle in the battle of weight loss,I have asked many people who are or has been on a diet and the reasons why they choose to lose weight are:</p>
<p><strong>Appearance</strong><br /> Many people have self-esteem issues when it comes to their weight. For some men, their overweight problems may not attract a person to him. For some women, it is the same. Women are more conscience of their appearance. They want to be more attractive to the opposite sex. Both sex, may feel that if weight is loss, a new or existing relationship would strengthen.</p>
<p><strong>Break The Stereotype </strong><br />There are stereotypes that are forced upon people who are overweight. Some people that are overweight, is looked at as if they are unhappy, tired, or lazy. I have heard some state, &#8220;I&#8217;d hate to be that person.&#8221; Many reasons why a person chooses to lose weight, is to break this stereotype. An overweight person has the self-esteem to endure the weight loss process. Therefore, losing weight makes the individual feel much better physically and mentally.</p>
<p><strong>Health Reasons </strong><br />Many people want to lose weight in order to physically feel better. A person may be 5 pounds overweight. Or a person may be 20 pounds overweight. The main goal here, is to shed off that excess weight. There are millions of people in America who are ill. By losing weight, this may deter heart disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol levels, strokes, and diabetes. The chance to diet, eat healthy, and lose weight is a positive option.</p>
<p><strong>Better Employment</strong><br />It seems as if our appearance, also helps to determine our employment status. People may want to lose weight before that great interview. To look your best at an interview, creates a positive first impression. When you walk in the room for the interview, you are seen to have confidence and a glow about yourself. When interviewed, the employer may judge by looks. The notion of being overweight, may tie into the employee being possibly lazy and a unhappy worker. Therefore, this is another good reason why people want to lose weight.<br /><strong><br />Clothing</strong><br />Many people tend to have a closet or closets full of garments. Some may even have clothes which was kept from 10 to 15 years ago. Those clothes may have shown a special quality, feature, or made the person feel good about themselves. So the choice to lose weight, is undoubtedly a decision one makes. They may want to once again, fit into the clothing and feel the youth they had 10 to 20 years ago. We notice this happens around the time of our class reunion.</p>
<p><strong>Savings On New Clothes</strong><br />Another reason to lose weight, may be the savings of buying new clothes. A lot of people may buy a suit or dress that fits very nice. A year later, that same suit or dress may be too small. To buy clothing every year, will add up, which means money is being spent. For this reason, people become very motivated to lose weight.<br /><strong><br />Save Money on Travel</strong><br />Nowadays, people who are overweight or so called obese, are punished. On some airlines, a person who is overweight and cannot fit in the planes&#8217; single chair, can possibly be charged a double fee. An individual may seem fit to lose weight in order to save him or herself money.</p>
<p>There are many reasons why people want to lose weight. Looking better and feeling good about themselves is terrific. Having a plan and setting a routine is the first big step in losing weight. Yet, there are a lot reasons why people fail the battle of weight loss.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Overweight Children</strong></p>
<p>Overweight is often used interchangeably with pre-obese and is generally defined as having more body fat than is optimally healthy. Being overweight is a common condition, especially where food supplies are plentiful and lifestyles are sedentary. As much as 64% of the United States adult population is considered either overweight or obese, and this percentage has increased over the last four decades.</p>
<p>The percentage of overweight/obese children is growing at an alarming rate. With today&#8217;s technology children are spending more time indoors on the internet or playing video games or watching tv and not exercising enough.</p>
<p>According to statistics 10% of 2-5 year old are overweight and 15% of children between 6-19years are overweight.</p>
<p>Being overweight is when your body has too much body fat. Body Fat is usually measured as a Body Mass Index (BMI). If you want to calculate your child&#8217;s BMI then find out what their weight is in kilograms and divide it by their height in meters squared.</p>
<p>For Boys: If more than 25% of TOTAL body weight is fat then he is classed as obese.</p>
<p>For Girls: It is slightly higher at 32%. This is because girls have a different body shape, and bodily functions.</p>
<p>Treat Overweight Children:</p>
<p>Reaching and maintaining an appropriate body weight is important. That&#8217;s why recommendations that focus on small but permanent changes in eating may work better than a series of short-term changes that can&#8217;t be sustained.</p>
<p>•    Parents&#8217; involvement in modifying overweight children&#8217;s behavior is important. Parents who model healthy eating and physical activity can positively influence their children&#8217;s health.</p>
<p>•    Limiting the number of calories that your child drinks. For example, many kids drink too much juice and soda each day. Sticking to the usual recommend limits of 4-6 ounces of 100% fruit juice for children under age 6 years and only 8-12 ounces for older children can help to limit excessive weight gain. </p>
<p>•    Limiting the amount of milk that younger children drink. Although drinking milk is important and it is a good source of calcium, too much milk can lead to your child becoming overweight. Obesity often starts in early childhood, with a common scenario being a child who drinks too much milk. Children usually only need about 16-24 ounces of milk each day. </p>
<p>•    Avoiding frequent meals of fast food. </p>
<p>•    Don’t &#8216;super size&#8217; your child&#8217;s meals. A common problem that contributes to overweight children are meals with portions that are too large. </p>
<p>•    Don’t force younger children to &#8216;clean their plates.&#8217; An important way to help children learn to eat healthy is for them to know that they can stop eating when they are full. </p>
<p>•    Encourage regular exercise and physical activity in your children each day. This may include going for walks as a family, playing outside, riding a bike, or participating in organized sports, like soccer and baseball. </p>
<p>•    Limit inactivity by setting strict limits on watching television and playing computer and video games. </p>
<p>•    Avoiding allowing your children eat while watching TV. Instead, limit meals to the dinner table. </p>
<p>•    Don’t put too much of a focus on what your child eats. Remember not too restrict calories and instead, offer a healthy diet with 3 healthy meals (don&#8217;t skip meals, especially breakfast) and a few snacks, and allow occasional treats. Talking to your child too much about calories, fat and dieting can actually cause more harm than good, leading to eating disorders. </p>
<p>•    Know what your child is eating and where his calories are coming from.</p>
